The two round George Durnan competition at Machrihanish Golf
Club took place on Tuesday and Thursday
last week in contrasting weather conditions between
the 2 days.
Stephen Kelly continued his top form in the challenging
weather conditions on Tuesday to card the lowest gross and
net score with (73-4=69) to win the first round, with Robert
S McCallum pushing him hard with a (88-18=70) to take second
place on Day 1.
Competitors were glad to see the conditions improve
drastically for the second round on Thursday with only light
winds to contend with, and it was Craig Colville who took
top spot with a 77-10=67 on Day 2.
Consistency proved to be the recipe for success over the 2
days with Robert S McCallum repeating his (88-18=70) on
Thursday to win overall with a cumulative net score of 140.
